The scholarships are meant for teachers of Spanish of secondary or higher education working in academic institutions or education centers in a European Union member state (different from Spain) where Spanish is taught as a subject, either as a second language or as a complementary language.

The scholarship consists of a one-week training / perfection / refresher course for teachers of Spanish in Salamanca (Spain), imparted by the Tía Tula faculty, all of whom are specialized in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and Spanish teacher training.

• A one-week training / perfection / refresher course (3 hours a day over 5 days, Monday to Friday).
• Accommodation in Salamanca: from the Sunday before the course start date until the Saturday following the course conclusion, in private room with full board.
• Extracurricular activities over the course week, teachers are invited to participate in the extracurricular activities that the school organizes for its foreign students.
• Course completion certificate issued by Tía Tula Colegio de Español as an Instituto Cervantes Accredited Centre in Salamanca (Spain).
• Transfer in public transportation from Madrid airport to Salamanca and return (from Salamanca to Madrid airport). All other travel costs (including travel from origin to Madrid and viceversa) are to be paid by the scholarship holder.
• Travel and medical insurance.

Course dates: July 27th- 31st 2015.
Scholarship program dates: July 26th - August 1st 2015.

The scholarships are part of a coordinated program between Regional Government of Castile and Leon and Tía Tula Colegio de Español. It is Tía Tula Colegio de Español who grants the scholarships.

A total of 10 scholarships are available to teachers of Spanish working in academic institutions or education centers in a European Union state.

The first five applications received will automatically be granted the scholarship. The five remaining scholarships will be drawn from the remaining applications. The draw will take place in the following manner: each applicant will receive a randomly selected number between 0 and 99999 (lowest and highest number in the Spanish National Lottery). The five applicants with the numbers closest to the winning number in the Spanish National Lottery draw on Saturday, May 23rd 2015 will be granted a scholarship. Should two applicants have two numbers equidistant from the 'winning number', the highest of the two numbers will have precedence. For example, if 10,000 were the 'winning number' and applicants had been assigned 9997, 9998, 9999, 10001, 10002 and 10003, the following applicants would be selected (in this order): 10001, 9999, 10002, 9998, 10003.

Should a successful applicant reject the scholarship offer, the applicant holding the next closest number will be selected as a replacement (in the above example, applicant 9997 would be selected).

General conditions

1. Only teachers of Spanish of secondary or higher education (secondary schools, lycées, gymnasiums, institutes, universities, etc.) working in a European Union member state different from Spain, are eligible for the grant. Upon receiving the application, Tía Tula may ask the applicant to provide proof of this through a work certificate issued by the center where they teach.
2. Only one application form per teacher will be admitted, and only one teacher per center (unless the 10 requests are not reached).
3. In order for the application to be valid, besides completing this form, teachers must register with the Red Mundial de Hispanistas de la Junta de Castilla y León: http://redhispanistas.es/registrate
4. Each scholarship includes:
   • A one-week taining / perfection / refresher course (3 hours a day over 5 days, Monday to Friday).

5. The scholarship program will take place July 26th – August 1st 2015. The course covered by the scholarship will run July 27th – 31st.
6. The first five applications received will automatically be granted a scholarship.
7. Five more scholarships will be drawn from the remaining applications. The draw will take place in the following manner: each applicant will receive a randomly selected number between 0 and 99999 (lowest and highest number in the Spanish National Lottery). The five applicants with the number closest to the winning number in the Spanish National Lottery draw on Saturday, May 23rd 2015 will be granted a scholarship. 8. Tía Tula will contact successful applicants from Monday May 25th 2015. If the scholarship is subsequently rejected by the applicant, or no reply is received within six days from the original contact, a replacement will be sought, which will be the applicant holding the next closest number to the winning number in the draw. The same steps will be followed as stated above when contacting this replacement.
9. According to the Spanish Legislation relating to confidentiality and protection of personal data (Article 15/1999), personal information will be treated as private information by Tía Tula Colegio de Español. Tía Tula informs the student that personal data obtained through the free completion of this form will be included in a file for automated processing; the student, meanwhile, authorizes this treatment by accepting these conditions. The data is purely for internal use and is for statistical and administrative purposes - designed to help provide the services that the student requests and to communicate with him/her regarding these services. The data may be used during the provision of services and subsequent to the provision of services in dealing with outstanding matters related to these same services. In any case, in accordance with Spanish Legislation, the student may, at any time, exercise his/her rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition by writing to Tía Tula Colegio de Español, S.L. (CIF:B37410214) - which acknowledges and accepts responsability for the control of the data -, to c/ Rúa Mayor, 43-47, 1° Dcha - 37008 Salamanca (Spain). The student also agrees that his/her image can be used for advertising when it appears in photos or video taken inside the school, or during extracurricular activities.
10. In case of conflict or disagreement about the correct interpretation the interpretation of these conditions or their observance, the parties, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction to which they may be entitled, hereby submit themselves to the jurisdiction of the Courts and Courts of Law of Salamanca, Spain.
11. The applicant has read and understood the conditions above and agrees to them.
